Stephen is an accomplished business and finance leader with more than two decades of experience spanning public accounting, real estate, the energy sector, and professional services. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Prince Edward Island in 1997 and began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, where he obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 2000.
In 2002, Stephen moved to Fredericton, New Brunswick to join a locally owned group of car dealerships, rental car companies, and real‑estate businesses. This role marked the beginning of a long and successful career in operational and financial leadership.
Stephen joined Plaza Retail REIT, a publicly traded real estate investment trust, in 2005. Over the course of nineteen years, he advanced through a series of progressively senior roles from Corporate Controller to Executive Vice President, playing a key role in supporting the trust’s growth.
In 2025, Stephen transitioned to NB Power Corporation as Director, Financial Planning & Investment Governance, where he led strategic financial initiatives and oversaw corporate investment oversight.
In February 2026, he joined J. Donovan Law Group as Chief Operating Officer, where he continues to apply his extensive leadership, operational, and financial expertise to support the firm’s continued expansion and service excellence.
Beyond his professional life, Stephen is dedicated to his family. He married his wife, Jillian, in 2005, and together they have two daughters, Ella and Mea. An active and competitive pickleball player, Stephen also enjoys camping and spending time on the lake on their Sea‑Doo’s. A lifelong dog lover, he embraces an active lifestyle rooted in family and the enjoyment of Atlantic Canadian life.
